Woman’s body found in canal in Grandpass

The body of a 60-year-old woman had been found in a canal near Baseline Road in Grandpass yesterday (8) afternoon, Police said.

The Grandpass police found the woman’s body after a call was received on the police 119 emergency line.

The woman was a resident of the Grandpass area and Police suspect that she may have died after falling into the canal accidentally.

The Magisterial inquiry into the death was to be carried out yesterday.
