Sajith, Najath guides Zahira to victory

A match bag of 9 for 34 runs by skipper Sajith Sameera and an unbeaten ton by Mohamed Najath who also cracked a half ton in the first innings helped Zahira record a massive outright win by 244 runs over Anuradhapu­ra Central in the Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter concluded at Maradana yesterday.

Shashthran­anda MMV Dehiwala recorded a massive innings and 556 run win over Madampe MMV Kuleegoda in the match which ended at Madampe yesterday.

Shashthran­anda MMV Dehiwala made 729 for 9 declared which in all probabilit­y is a interschoo­l record which came on the back of two double tons scored by Ruwan Lakshan who made a quick fire 168 ball knock of 272 that included 25 boundaries and 13 sixes and Isuru Chamara who hit 237 in 160 balls which had 28 boundaries and nine sixes with the pair being associated in a 210 run stand for the fourth wicket.

Madampe MMV Kuleegoda in their turn put up two pathetic batting performanc­es succumbing to the bowling pair of Navod Madusanka and Sacihn Dilhara for scores of 89 and 84 runs respective­ly.
