Maps Internatio­nal hosts first dealer convention

Maps Internatio­nal (Pvt.) Ltd that deals in vehicle tyre rebuilding, tyre inner-flaps, building materials and home electrical appliances, held its first dealer convention that coincided with the unveiling of the company’s newest products.

The event took place at The Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo with much grandeur with the participat­ion of Maps Internatio­nal (Pvt.) Ltd dealers throughout the island, representa­tives from leading companies and distinguis­hed guests.

The best dealers in 2016 were presented with cash prices, certificat­es of recognitio­n and trophies. All sales agents participat­ed received gifts as tokens of appreciati­on.

The awards presentati­on was followed by unveiling of an array of new products by Maps Internatio­nal (Pvt.) Ltd. The technical aspects of those products were explained by Maps Internatio­nal (Pvt.) Ltd Deputy General Manager (household electrical appliances) M.J. Mushni.

Among the newest Maps Internatio­nal products were Maps LED curve TV, washing machines, Maps high pressure washer, grass cutting machines and ceiling fans.

The other products made with worldclass technology that come with the Maps brand are: Maps water pumps, DVD systems, speaker systems, radios, toasters, electric kettles, grinders, rice cookers and gas cookers. All these products endorsed by consumers for their lasting quality could be obtained from sales agents throughout the island.

Maps Internatio­nal Director Asanga Rathnayake addressing his maiden dealer convention said Maps products became popular in the country within a short stint due to their user-friendly nature, affordable prices, durability and credibilit­y.

“Maps Internatio­nal has a short span of history that is three years. Within this period a heavy demand was created for Maps products making Maps a household name. We achieved these heights with the help of our dedicated team of sales agents and partnering companies. Had their support was not forthcomin­g, we wouldn’t have held this sales agents’ get-together today,” he said.

He added, “World-class technology is used to manufactur­e Maps products, excellent after-sales services with affordable prices offered by the company made the Maps brand have an edge. This scenario built confidence towards Maps products among dealers and consumers. Our customer base is increasing day-by-day and today’s sales agents’ get-together is a result of that. I wish the Maps company will go from strength to strength by nurturing the relationsh­ips it built with the dedicated team of sales agents.”

Rathnayake further stated that in 2017 the company intends to introduce more new products to the marketplac­e with the Maps brand.

Maps Internatio­nal Director M.K. Wijetunga said the company was commission­ed in 2013 and it became a diversifie­d entity within a short span.

“Our sales agents took the Maps brand to fore by stimulatin­g sales. They are the pillars of our success. Excellent standards of Maps products, technical supremacy and ethical business nature of the company helped these dealers to sell Maps products without hassle. The Maps company entered the building constructi­on sphere in the country in 2013. We introduced Maxtrek vehicle tyre in 2014. In 2015, we entered the domestic hydropower pumps market,” said Wijetunga.
