First of its kind Canon Image Square opens in Sri Lanka

Canon Singapore together with Sri Lanka’s Metropolit­an introduces G-series and Maxify lineup offering latest printing technology

Canon Singapore (Pvt.) Ltd together with Sri Lanka’s Metropolit­an Communicat­ions (Pvt.) Ltd., unveiled two document management solutions products to the local market by introducin­g its G-series and Maxify lineup offering latest printing technology.

Canon Singapore (Pvt.) Ltd President and CEO Noriko Gunji also was present at the launch who arrived in the country to open the Canon Image Square V2, Canon Studio and Canon Imaging Academy, the first of its kind in Sri Lanka.

Introducin­g the G-series printers at the launch, Metropolit­an Communicat­ions in a statement said that it is a revolution­ary product in the printing industry as it is the ideal product for low cost with higher speed.

“In G-series cost per page a print is as low as 26 cents. In a typical printer it will cost about Rs. 3.00,” the statement said.

Talking about why anyone has to invest on this series, which appeals for higher volumes users, it was noted that with the low cost it also gives higher productivi­ty as well as better quality.

Other features associated with this technology as noted are, its ink bottle system giving higher productivi­ty which saves 98 percent cost for an organisati­on and it is designed to refill ink easily.

“With Canon you don’t have to compromise anything, but with low cost, in this printer you get crystal black text and cloud printing with top quality output,” the statement noted.

Another advantage as noted was they said that as it takes 20 minutes for initial process when a normal printer is connected to a computer, but in Canon it takes only 6 minutes.

It was also noted that high end volumes in the G-series comes with Wifi solutions, which print documents on Google Apps, Google Drive which will be very useful for corporate users.

The other product introduced Canon Maxify range, will be targeting business organisati­ons which gives better image.

“If you are printing about 1,500 documents, Maxify is ideal as it gives better performanc­e, device arrangemen­ts, mobile colour printing. It has two sense makes things faster, also it is waterproof,” they said. They also said that it set restrictio­ns for printing such as for blocking incoming and outgoing faxes.

If you are in the car park, rushing for a meeting and you need that document. And then you just go to the phone, send the document to the printer, of course the printer is off, but don’t worry, the printer gets the alert and starts printing, and you have the document as you walk in to the office. This is the beauty of this,” the statement said.

Canon Singapore Ltd, Regional Inkjet Sales and Marketing Division Assistant Director Too Kok Yong, said that they are looking forward to be the number one in Sri Lanka by growing their business as they have managed to grow by 12 percent last one year.

Metropolit­an Communicat­ions (Pvt.) Ltd. is active in Sri Lanka for six decades and has been Canon’s local distribute­r for past 38 years.

It is a diversifie­d organisati­on engaged in different spheres of business activity. The group’s range includes digital profession­al, compact, and video cameras, copiers, printers scanners and related consumable­s.
