The daily average turnover was recorded at Rs.780mn compared to Rs.1,225mn reported during the previous week. Foreign buying for the week was Rs.2.5bn and foreign selling was Rs.1.3bn.

On Monday Melstacorp (MELS) share price closed up Rs.1.70 at 65.00 and posted the day’s single largest turnover of Rs.205mn. Market closed up with ASPI and S&PSL20 gaining 15.68 points and 9.60 points respective­ly.

On Tuesday foreign investors bought 14.3mn shares of Dialog Axiata (DIAL) for Rs.165mn which was the day’s single largest turnover. Market closed down during the day; ASPI lost 9.08 points and S&PSL20 lost 5.21 points.

Approximat­ely 5.7mn shares of MELS traded for Rs.373mn on Wednesday. ASPI declined 13.04 points and S&PSL20 declined 21.39 points.

NDB share price bounced back on Thursday close 5.00 rupees higher at Rs.140.00 and posted the day’s single largest turnover of Rs.337mn with 2.4mn shares traded. ASPI declined 6.27 points while S&PSL20 declined 5.85 points.

Market continued to close down on Friday losing 3.81 points on ASPI and 5.34 points on S&PSL20. Total turnover for the day amounted to Rs.711mn to which the largest contributi­on of Rs.380mn was made by JKH with 2.7mn shares traded. CCS was the second largest contributo­r of turnover posting Rs.109mn.
