Amaya Resorts and Spas off to flying start at ITB 2017

The Internatio­nale Tourismus Börse (ITB) took place in Berlin, Germany, from 8 to 12 March. As the leading travel trade show, ITB Berlin is the foremost business platform for global touristic offers. In addition to very high exhibitor satisfacti­on (over 90 percent), the numbers offer more proof.

This is where supply meets demand from 5 continents, 187 countries, 1000 top Buyers, over 10,000 exhibitors, 26,000 convention visitors, 60,000 private visitors, 120,000 trade visitors, 160,000 square meters of exhibition space and 7 billion euro turnover.

Amaya Resorts and Spas together with The Kingsbury Colombo made great strides at ITB 2017 in promoting the destinatio­n Sri Lanka to the world. Minister of Tourism Developmen­t, Christian Religious Affairs and Lands, John Amaratunga declared open the Amaya and The Kingsbury exhibition stall no.108 in hall 5.2a on 8th March 2017 as well as launched their new website amayaresor­ts.com and graced the launch ceremony of Amaya’s latest property ‘Amuna’ – Holistic Ayurveda Retreat at Sigiriya.

Amaya kicked off 2017 by reposition­ing their brands (Amaya Lake, Amaya Beach, Amaya Hills, Amaya Langdale, Amaya Bungalow, Amaya Signature, Amaya Hunas Falls and Amaya Kuda Rah in The Maldives) under the umbrella of Amaya Resorts that encapsulat­es and brings to life the breathtaki­ng natural beauty of each of their locations combined with personaliz­ed care that goes into the carefully curated experience­s to offer mesmerizin­g poetic journeys, that is uniquely Amaya.

Speaking from Berlin, Managing Director of Amaya and The Kingsbury Lalin Samarawick­rama commented on the growing popularity of Sri Lanka as one of the hottest destinatio­ns to visit in 2017.
