Watawala Tea clinches ‘Most Favourite Hot Beverage Brand’ award
Watawala Tea, the market leader in the tea category, was awarded the ‘Most Popular Hot Beverage Brand of the Year’, at the Slim-nielsen People’s Awards, held recently for the 11th consecutive year.
The hot beverages category includes tea, milk and malted food drinks. The event, held at Water’s Edge Battaramulla, saw Watawala Tea outshining other leading brands in the segment to win the coveted award.

Conducted for the 11th year in Sri Lanka by the Nielsen Company Sri Lanka, the market research covered all spectrums of households to understand and establish what their most favourite brand of hot beverage.

“Both independent market research tracking surveys from Lanka Market Research Bureau (LMRB) and Nielsen Sri Lanka declared Watawala Tea as the market leader in the tea category in the year 2016. However, this latest triumph at the People’s Awards further strengthens our unrivalled leadership and we are thrilled,” he added.
