The former Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman had been found guilty of the murder of Superintendent of Deraniyagala Noori Estate Nihal Perera and was sentenced to death last year.

The six suspects were transported to the Avissawella Magistrate’s Court and back by prison vehicles under tight security.
