Rice mill boiler bursts in Kattankudy

The boiler of the rice mill situated near the 1st Kurichchi near the Main Road in Kattankudy burst suddenly early yesterday causing damage to the building and the furniture that were there, the Police said.

Three houses in the vicinity of the mill and a storehouse too were damaged in the explosion. The roofs tiles and the floors of the houses were also damaged, Police said.

The owner of the mill said that the loss suffered by the accident was about Rs.3.5 million.

A complaint was lodged with the Police by the respective house owners and the owner of the rice mill.

The Police are investigating.
