Kingswood in 44 run win

Kingswood College scored a 44 run win over their traditiona­l rivals Dharmaraja College in the limited over encounter played at the Pallekele Internatio­nal Cricket Stadium yesterday.

Rajans won the toss and the put the visitors in to bat. Kingswood at one stage were in trouble at 111 for 5, but a superb sixth wicket partnershi­p between Vimukthi Wijesiriwa­rdena (69) and Yasod Kavinda (76) of 103 runs saw the ‘Randles Hill’ school out of trouble. Yasod scored his runs in only 72 balls with the help of 9 boundaries and 2 huge sixes while Vimukthi who was in cracking form scored his runs in 65 balls with the help of 5 boundaries and 6 times

clearing the ropes.
