L. B. Finance ‘B’ in easy win

L. B. Finance ‘B’ posted as easy 7-1 win over Virtusa in their Mercantile ‘D’ Division Football Tournament fixture conducted by the Mercantile Football Association (MFA) played at Kelaniya recently. At half time L. B. Finance ‘B’ led 2-1.

In the fifth minute, centre forward J.A.L. Tharanga scored the first goal for L.B. Finance ‘B’ and in the 10th minute rightextreme V. Kumara added the second goal.

Shortly before half time, Virtusa’s centre forward Madushan de Silva booted the first goal to make it 2-1.

After the turnaround in the 35th minute, Tharanga scored again to fire his second goal for L. B. Finance and to make it 3-1.

One minute later L. B. Finance ‘B’ were awarded a penalty and H.M. Anthony put the finishing touches to make the score 4-1.

One minute later Anthony came into the scene again to give L. B. Finance their fifth goal and to make it 5-1.

In the 41st minute centre forward Tharanga booted his third goal to make it 6-1.

The final goal was scored by left-extreme Ranga Perera to give L. B. Finance ‘B’ an easy 7-1 win. Referee: Suranga Perera.

DIALOG, AMANA BANK DRAW 1-1

Dialog and Amana Bank featured in a 1-1 draw in their Mercantile ‘D’ Division Football Tournament fixture conducted by the Mercantile Football Association (MFA) and played at Kelaniya recently. At half time Dialog led 1-0.

In the 28th minute, mid-field Rifad Mahil opened the scoring for Dialog.

After the change of ends mid field M.I.M. Rifkham shot the equaliser for Amana Bank in the 52nd minute. Referee: K.S.C. Chathuranga. (BM)
