KANDY SEEKING TO RECORD SECOND WIN
Two matches of the Super Provincial limited over cricket tournament are down for decision today with first game winners Kandy meeting Dambulla at the Colts ground and Colombo clashing with Galle at the CCC ground.
Kandy who pulled off a thrilling one-wicket against Galle will be seeking to record their second win against Dambulla who featured in a tie against Colombo who will be looking for their first win against Galle.
Kandy will be expecting their half ton scorers Hashan Dumindu and Charith Asalanka to produce a repeat performance along with Mahela Udawatte, skipper Chamara Kapugedera, Dhanushka Gunatileke, Sandun Weerakoddy, for them to put up another big score.
Dambulla’s trump card will no doubt be Lahiru Milantha who cracked a ton in the previous match and much will be expected from Kusal Mendis and apart from the duo they have batsmen in the caliber of Harsha Cooray, skipper Kusal Janith, Milinda Siriwardena, Udara Jayasundara and Bhanuka Rajapakse to propel their lineup.
Colombo skipper Dinesh Chandimal who also cracked a ton will look for a repeat and they posses players in the likes of Lahiru Thirimanne, Dilshan Munaweera, Kithruwan Vithanage, Ashan Priyanjan, Wanidu Hasaranga and hard hitter Thisara Perera.
Galle have in their ranks man in form Sadeera Samarawickrama, skipper Upul Tharanga, Dimuth Karunaratne, Dimuth Karunaratne, Dhananjaya de Silva, Dasun Shanaka and Chathuranga de Silva to guide the side in the batting department.
