Sri Lanka U19 play out draw against Australia U19
The three-day encounter between the Australia U19 and Sri Lanka U19 played at the Kingston Twin Ovals in Hobart ended in a tame draw.
The third day’s play saw Sri Lanka U19 in reply to the home team’s formidable score of 309 for 6 declared resuming from their overnight score of 149 for 9 going on to make 184.
Australia U19s batting the second time found left arm spinner Praveen Jayawickrama,who ended with impressive figures of 6 for 40, too hot to handle before declaring their innings on 142 for 8.
Sri Lanka U19s set a target of 268 runs for victory put in a better batting performance which spearheaded by skipper Kamindu Mendis before ending the day on 201 for 7.
The two teams will play their
first of five ODIS on April 13 at the same venue.
