COPA to present report to House in early May

Committee finalised review of accounts of 120 of 447 Govt. institutions

The Committee on Public Account (COPA) would present a report on accounts of 30 Government institutes to Parliament next month, sources said. The Chairman of the COPA, Deputy Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna said the committee had finalised the review of accounts of 120 of 447 Government institutions.

He also said it had been proposed to coordinate the activities of 17 revenue earning Government institutions using information technology.

Due to the nonavailability of such procedure it had been difficult to ascertain the Government revenue accurately at present, he said.
