Govt. to provide compensation and houses: Musthapha
Meethotamulla tragedy
The government is taking necessary steps to provide compensation and residences for the people who lost their houses in the Meethotamulla tragedy, Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Faiszer Musthapha said.
He said the government has done its best to the people who were affected in the Meethotamulla garbage dump collapse incident.

Minister Musthapha vi s i t i n g th e si t e a t Meethotamulla said each citizen of the country should be thankful to the tri-forces, the Police and the Sri Lanka Civil Security Force who are still playing a significant role in assisting the victims. He said the Ven. Vitiyala Kavidhaja Thera and the Inspector General of Police took steps to use a neglected building complex to provide temporary accommodation.

We are very sensitive in a situation of a tragedy. Each person tends to assist without any differences. In the recent history, we could see that some individuals try to accomplish their political needs in such situations. It is not acceptable” Minister Musthapha added.
