NORTHERN ISSUE SHOULD BE SOLVED AMICABLY:SRINESAN MP
Srinesan
Based on the principle that the Tamil National Alliance should win over the confidence of the people and be a guiding force in the future, the issue that had emerged in the NPC should be solved in an amicable manner, Batticaloa District Parliamentarian G. Srinesan said. He made the above comments at a media meeting held in Batticaloa on Saturday.
Parliamentarian Srinesan said that the people held the belief that if corruption was proved, those found guilty should honourably step down and since the investigation had been conducted in an impartial manner, there should not be any delay to accept the verdict.
NPC Chief Minister C.V Wigneswaran had certain moral rights as the leader of the four ministers. When allegations were made against a Minister he could have nipped them in the bud. However, when four ministers were put in the dock, the people were bound to question whether supervision was lacking or action delayed in the NPC, he said.
Mr.srinesan said that NPC Chief Minister C.V Wigneswaran as an intellectual was holding the mantle of leadership to guide the Ministers.
Investigations had been carried out on four Ministers and two of them had been found guilty and called upon to resign and the other two Ministers were asked to go on compulsory leave well before they were found guilty. That had caused confusion and hence they had acted on their own will and brought a no-confidence motion against the Chief Minister.”more than the fact whether the decision was right or wrong, we feel that their action would weaken the unity among the Tamils and also the Tamil political parties. Under these circumstances, Parliamentarian S. Sritharan is currently having discussions with the Leader of the TNA R. Sa mpanthan and ITAK Leader Mavai Senathirajah, since the TNA which remains a tower of strength to the Tamils should not disintegrate,” Batticaloa District Parliamentarian G. Srinesan said.
