Ananda, Nalanda, record outright wins

U-15 Cricket Tournament

Traditiona­l rivals Ananda College and Nalanda College recorded outright wins in their Inter-schools Under-15 Division One Cricket Tournament matches played yesterday.

Ananda coasted to an innings and 48-run win over Basilica College Ragama while Nalanda secured a ten-wicket win over Piliyandal­a Central.

In the other matches Wesley College, St. Benedict’s College, Royal College Colombo, St. Joseph’s College, Holy Cross College Kalutara, and Bandaranay­ake MMV Gampaha won their respective matches. At Ragama Basilica Ragama 61 (Sajith de Silva 6/8, Vinuka Damsith 3/11) and 52 (Vinuka Damsith 5/9)

Ananda: 161/6 declared (Damith Hansaja 64, Vinuja Wijayaband­ara 24, Anuda Jayaweera 20, Dilan Noel 3/58).

Piliyandal­a Central: 17 (Dineth Samaraweer­a 6/13, Chanul Atukorala 4/3) and 86 (Raveen de Silva 7/30)
