NTB launches digital lifestyle partner applicatio­n

Frimi, a digital lifestyle partner, powered by Nations Trust Bank (NTB), will officially launch on June 30th at ODEL, Colombo 07, and is a next-generation electronic payment, banking and marketing platform that allows users to make payments, send and receive money, do their banking and enjoy the best offers and discounts all through one simple app.

To kick off the launch, all Frimi users will enjoy a discount of up to 60 percent at ODEL on the 30th of June and 1st of July 2017.

For the first time in Sri Lanka, using Frimi, it is now possible to open an electronic bank account 100 percent online without a visit to a physical location. Every Frimi account is also a savings account with Nations Trust Bank that earns an attractive interest rate on the available balance, something not offered by any other similar service.

Frimi is accepted at a wide range of merchants and retailers and paying for purchases is as simple as walking through a checkout counter usingeithe­r NFC enabled pay and go functional­ity, or scanning a QR code built into the app or merely by quoting the user’s mobile number or Frimi ID to the cashier. Frimi can be used to pay anyone for anything, or for transferri­ng money even if the recipient does not have a Frimi account, simply by making a mobile to mobile transfer, by means of a cash token. By using an Apple or Android smartphone, Frimi can be downloaded through the app store or at www.frimi.lk.

The app provides users with the following unique features, such as an interest earning savings account, built in biometric authentica­tion, a virtual debit card, the best offers and deals in the market, the ability to link other payment instrument­s like debit/credit cards to Frimi, pay any utility bill, use the App on multiple devices, send and receive money to or from anyone even if they do not use Frimi, send and receive cash tokens to or from anyone, Frimi also acts as a great resource to find ATMS, CDMS, retail merchants and Frimi agents within close proximity to the user.
