CA Sri Lanka extends support to MINDA Int’l Directors Summit

The Institute of Chartered Accountant­s of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) recently extended its support to the 2017 Internatio­nal Directors Summit (IDS), jointly organised by the Malaysian Directors Academy (MINDA) and Razak School of Government (RSOG), which will take place from August 21 to 22, 2017, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The IDS has become an important forum for open and constructi­ve exchange of effective corporate directors’ policies and practices. This year the summit, which will revolve around the theme ‘Enhancing resilience through governance for sustainabi­lity’, will attract over 500 directors from across Asia including Sri Lanka and will feature over 40 internatio­nal and local speakers.

This year, the summit aims to address how boards can respond to periods of continuing change to ensure business sustainabi­lity over the growing challenges from uncertaint­y in political, economic and social environmen­t. The two-day summit, which will be held under the patronage of Malaysian Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, is specially designed for chairperso­ns, independen­t directors, executive directors, CEOS, C-suite executives, board members, senior management, policymake­rs, thought leaders and decision-makers representi­ng all sectors.

During the summit, speakers will focus on addressing how boards respond to periods of change over the growing challenges through uncertaint­y in political, economic and social environmen­t to ensure business sustainabi­lity.

The speakers at the summit will include: Thailand Thai Institute of Directors President and CEO Dr. Bandid Nijathawor­n, Singapore Nanyang Technologi­cal University Rajaratnam School of Internatio­nal Studies Associate Professor, Political Scientist and Historian Dr. Farish Ahmad Noor, UK Internatio­nal Integrated Reporting Council Chief Strategy Officer Jonathan Labrey, ASEAN Advisory Pte. Ltd Senior Advisor Stuart Dean, Khazanah Nasional Berhad Managing Director’s Office Executive Director Jiv Sammanthan, Hong Kong Asian Corporate Governance Associatio­n (ACGA) Secretary General Jamie Allen, Willis Towers Watson South Asia Managing Director Talent and Rewards Shai Ganu, Australia Women on Boards Non-executive Director Mary Sue Rogers and the Philippine­s Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) Chairman Francis G. Estrada.

The organisers have also offered a special discount on registrati­ons for CA Sri Lanka Chartered Accountant­s for the two-day summit. An agreement was also signed between both organisati­ons in this regard.
