EY has acquired Brightree Solutions Sdn. Bhd. (Brightree) in Malaysia. Brightree is a regional SAP consulting, technology services and outsourcing company with SAP Platinum Partner recognition.

Brightree specializes in new implementations, optimizations, maintenance/support and advisory services to medium and large businesses in Malaysia and ASEAN including Sri Lanka, with extensive SAP project engagement experiences in various industries.

EY Asia-pacific Advisory Leader Paul Clark said, “This acquisition is in line with EY’S implementation and global SAP rollouts in ASEAN, which is a key part of our global IT Advisory strategy to have capability in major regions. With the acquisition of Brightree, EY will be able to provide a SAP delivery and managed service center of excellence for clients across ASEAN and APAC, which will include Sri Lanka. We will be well-positioned to provide our clients with the SAP and business transformation strategies, processes, tools, guidance and implementation skills as they execute business and digital transformations.”

“EY is committed to accelerating the growth and development of its advisory and consulting capabilities. There is a rising demand by clients in Malaysia and the region for more complementary and commercially-focused digital solutions. With the addition of Brightree’s services and solutions into our Advisory suite of services, we can better provide our clients with trusted advice and business agility that they increasingly need to navigate the opportunities and risks in their respective industries,” added EY ASEAN Advisory Leader Chow Sang Hoe.

With the acquisition of Brightree, EY’S expanded service offering will include a SAP delivery and managed service center of excellence, providing its clients with end-to-end advice and powerful insights into their businesses and markets to support the delivery of their strategic goals.

Brightree’s breadth of sector coverage, including the manufacturing, medical, utilities and logistics industries, will provide strong support to EY’S expanding integrated service offerings in these sectors.

“The opportunities across Asia-pacific Japan are immense. This partnership will bolster our joint efforts in helping our customers navigate their digital transformation by leveraging SAP S/4HANA digital core and cloud services. EY’S track record in C-suite engagement and their spirit of innovation combined with Brightree’s understanding of SAP’S cloud solutions as well as executional and technical expertise, will enable our customers to reap positive business outcomes for the digital future,” commented SAP VP and Head of Strategic Partners Business Asia-pacific and Japan Ch’ng Yu Peng.

Following the completion of this acquisition, Brightree Solutions Co-founders and Joint Managing Directors Phuah Ewe Ching and Tan Kee Huat will join as Partners of the Area and remain as Directors of EY Brightree Sdn. Bhd.

Phuah said, “We are excited about this opportunity to be part of the expanded SAP team in EY. EY’S strong ASEAN footprint and global network provide tremendous opportunities for the people of Brightree to replicate our success in the region and in other markets of the world. We share common values with EY in being people-focused and in our commitment to make a difference to our clients. Together with EY, we plan to bring a number of exciting new solutions to the market in the coming months.”

“By joining EY we will have even more capacity to create an intelligent information organisation and it gives us the opportunity to grow even more rapidly than we have over the past seven years,” Tan added.

“Our people will have more career development opportunities and our clients will benefit through wider geographic reach and access to global methods and practices.”

Brightree will be renamed EY Brightree Sdn. Bhd. and all its 84 employees will become part of EY’S 8,000 Advisory consultants in Asia-pacific to play a leading role in providing IT products and solutions to businesses and governments across the region.

“We have been impressed with the people, solutions and clients of Brightree. Their unique skills, dynamic leadership and strong team fit perfectly with the EY culture. In addition, the combination of EY’S consulting capability and global footprint with Brightree’s depth in SAP solutions and systems integration is very exciting. This will enable us to bring to market and offer our clients in Asia-pacific region including Sri Lanka a compelling and powerful value proposition. We’re excited at the impact we will have in helping our clients solve their most complex technology and data issues,” concluded EY Advisory Leader in Sri Lanka Arjuna Herath.
