Kumar Sangakkara as brand ambassador for Renault Kwid

Renault having launched its vibrant new small car model, the Kwid, in Sri Lanka in partnershi­p with their local representa­tive AMW, has made another innovative move by recently signing the mega star of the cricketing world, Kumar Sangakkara as their ambassador to promote the brand in Sri Lanka.

AMW, the local representa­tive in Sri Lanka for Renault, who was instrument­al in initiating this bold strategy said, that Sangakkara with his energetic appeal and his winning streak, aptly portrays the vibrant brand personalit­y of Renault, a brand which is a blend of talent, class, intelligen­ce, ambition and a spirit for adventure.

The partnershi­p is also timed with Renault’s next phase of growth in Sri Lanka, as they look to significan­tly increase their presence across the country, as well as to aggressive­ly expand the dealership footprint islandwide. The company is therefore confident that the world famous cricketer will be able to embody the right message and create the necessary hype for the Kwid brand in the country.

Announcing Renault’s partnershi­p with Sangakkara, the company will also be releasing their campaign titled ‘Sri Lanka’s new favorite car loved by Sri Lanka’s favorite cricketer’ that will be featured in all key media across all three languages.

Sangakkara sharing his views said: “I have always known Renault to be an iconic and inspiratio­nal brand the world over. I am happy to be associated with such a brand that is young, and vibrant and has quickly establishe­d itself in Sri Lanka as an exciting new addition to our roads. I look forward to representi­ng this intriguing brand and its fascinatin­g growth journey in the county.”

Coming down to the vehicle itself, the Renault Kwid is truly a good-looking compact hatchback. On the exterior front, this car comes with an attractive styling coupled with an SUV like stance thanks to the increased ground clearance and black plastic cladding along the sides giving it an appealing look. The cabin of the car comes with modern and intuitive interiors that include a well-equipped dashboard with a spacious cabin and smart upholstery. On the feature front, it comes with a segment-first seveninch touchscree­n with Bluetooth technology along with other addons.

Targeted for the young and ambitious executives in the country, with a ‘passion to live for more’, the brand is now slated to forge ahead and make headway in the market, complement­ed by an ambassador that truly represents it’s brand ethos.
