Amãna Bank in­tro­duces On­line Ac­count Open­ing

Amãna Bank has in­tro­duced the con­ve­nience of On­line Ac­count Open­ing to fa­cil­i­tate its cus­tomers with an easy and time-sav­ing method of open­ing an ac­count with­out go­ing through the has­sle of writ­ing on forms.

In­tro­duced as part of the bank’s dig­i­ti­za­tion strat­egy, the On­line Ac­count Open­ing plat­form is ac­ces­si­ble on the bank’s web­site www.aman­a­bank.lk, which al­lows po­ten­tial cus­tomers to seam­lessly open gen­eral sav­ings ac­counts, ladies sav­ings ac­counts and se­nior cit­i­zen sav­ings ac­counts with­out com­pro­mis­ing cus­tomer pri­vacy as well as other reg­u­la­tory re­quire­ments. As the cus­tomer can con­ve­niently ac­cess the on­line ac­count open­ing plat­form at the com­fort of their home or of­fice at any time of the day, cus­tomers can re­duce their wait­ing time at the branch. Cus­tomers choos­ing the On­line Ac­count Open­ing op­tion are not re­quired to sub­mit their NIC or ad­dress ver­i­fi­ca­tion and billing proof doc­u­ments over the counter as they will be able to eas­ily up­load such doc­u­ments on the on­line plat­form. Once the cus­tomer suc­cess­fully sub­mits the on­line form, they even have the op­tion of re­quest­ing a branch of­fi­cer to visit the cus­tomer for sig­na­ture and ver­i­fi­ca­tion. Com­ment­ing on this ini­tia­tive, the bank’s Vice Pres­i­dent Re­tail Bank­ing and Mar­ket­ing Sid­deeque Ak­bar said, “We are pleased to in­tro­duce the con­ve­nience of on­line ac­count open­ing, where at the click of a few but­tons, a cus­tomer can ini­ti­ate the ac­count open­ing process, ir­re­spec­tive of where he or she is. I am con­fi­dent that our cus­tomers will en­joy and ap­pre­ci­ate this timely and con­ve­nient ini­tia­tive.”

The bank plans to ex­pand its on­line plat­form to open other ac­counts of­fered by the bank as well.
