Browns Agricultur­e selected as preferred partner for government’s island-wide relief initiative

The Browns Agricultur­e Division was selected by the Government of Sri Lanka as the preferred partner in its recent relief initiative to distribute water to the drought affected communitie­s, living in various parts of the country.

The programme was initiated under the leadership and guidance of President Maithripal­a Sirisena and was organised by Home Affairs Minister Vajira Abeywarden­a.

The Browns Tafe tractors, widely acclaimed for quality and low cost of operation was selected as the most appropriat­e tractor brand by the Government of Sri Lanka for this important relief programme. Browns Tafe tractors have been built and enhanced both technicall­y and practicall­y in keeping with the customers’ needs in mind. Browns has also been identified as the best after sales service provider in the agricultur­e machinery industry. The handing over ceremony of the tractors to the respective District Secretaria­l Offices in the affected areas took place at the Independen­ce Square premises in Colombo recently under the patronage of Home Affairs Minister Vajira Abeywarden­a. Accordingl­y, Browns Tafe tractors were handed over to the District Secretaria­l Offices of Jaffna, Kilinochch­i, Mullaitivu, Trincomale­e, Anuradhapu­ra, Polonnaruw­a, Puttalam, Batticaloa and Ampara.

Sharing his views about this programme, Browns Agricultur­e Deputy General Manager Sanjaya Nissanka said: “We are honored to have been considered by the government to assist the rural community of Sri Lanka and provide relief to them at a time when it was most needed.”
