The main objective of the visit was to check the phenomenal progress and the performance of the students, and to scrutinize how this successful learning concept can be applied to the rest of the country.

At the event, the Prime Minister, instigated that the ministry will initially look at rolling out the XOLO Cloud Smart Classroom concept to 25 selected schools, while also focusing on the probable implementation of the Smart Classroom to all Advanced Level Students in years to come.

The launch of the first Smart Classroom was an initiative pioneered by Chief Executive Officer Codegen International Dr. Harsha Subasinghe and Deputy Minister Dr. Harsha de Silva in January this year. Together with the Education Ministry and the management of the Sri Jayawardenepura Maha Vidyalaya Kotte, the Smart Classroom was implemented, where Codegen joined the project as the technology solution provider for both software and hardware. In an attempt to ensure a seamless transition, and the effectiveness of the knowledge transfer, Codegen has acted as the key moderator in this revolutionary shift. “From teacher training, student progress monitoring and content delivery, for Sri Lanka’s first Smart Classroom; the students as well as the teachers have now mastered the technological aspects of the programme brilliantly. As a result, the teachers involved in the XOLO Smart Classroom, got the opportunity through the Education Ministry and the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka, to visit some of the renowned Smart Classrooms in Australia, for exposure and further understanding of the concept and its benefits.

It is evident that, Just-in-time learning and smart content delivery were two of the key features, that transformed the performance of the classroom, with real-time student progress monitoring, and learning based around Problem solving techniques.” stated Codegen International Project Manager, Pabasara Karunanayake.

“XOLO Cloud Smart Classroom is World’s first where students can now read and learn, while taking handwritten notes on the same screen; a unified learning solution for students with smart content delivery and unlimited content availability in multi-media form. After implementing this new education concept, we have seen a tremendous progress of children in the 7E Smart Classroom. This pilot project has proved that students are now much more enthusiastic to learn in the classroom or even at home with minimal supervision; increasing student attendance up to 92.5 percent, and an average 24 percent performance increase in subjects, and the highest individual average of 87 percent at the term examination was from the Smart Classroom.” stated Sri Jayawardenepura Maha Vidyalaya Kotte Principal, Major D. A. D. Wanaguru.

‘XOLO’ smart learning revolution is powered by Cloud Smart School education management solution. The seamless back-end integration ensures, optimal efficiency in operational activities of an educational institute, and or the entire education system of a country. Cloud Smart School is a scalable education platform that is designed to optimize the learning experience of our future generation.
