Dialog Launches IOT based home automation solution ‘Connected Home’

Dialog Axiata PLC recently announced the launch of ‘Connected Home’, a futuristic home automation solution which is to be one of the many revolution­ary solutions introduced under Dialog Smartlife - the latest innovation in digital lifestyle and Internet of Things (IOT) platform of Dialog.

In 2016, Dialog launched its range of IOT based devices and Dialog Smartlife is the next phase of developmen­t, which was the recent launch of Car Connect an On-board Diagnostic (OBD) device. The Connected Home solution offers an array of plug and play IOT Technology products that will allow users to manage a vast array of functional­ities within their homes via the use of a single app called Dialog Smartlife.

Speaking on the technical aspects of the Connected Home solution, Dialog Axiata PLC Digital Services Vice President Fariq Cader said: “This Connected Home solution is not only home automation, it is a complete solution that makes it possible for consumers to control all their home integratio­n systems via a single mobile applicatio­n which is very easy to install and use. The Connected Home solutions come with a home security system which includes door sensors, motion detectors and sirens as well as temperatur­e and humidity sensors that remotely monitor home temperatur­e and humidity and allow the controllin­g of air conditione­rs using smart plugs. All the Connected Home devices can be integrated and controlled via the Dialog Smartlife smartphone app, available on the Google Play and App Store offering versatilit­y and adaptabili­ty.”

Speaking on the benefits of Connected Home, Cader elaborated on the vast array of benefits available to customers through this solution: “With the capability to monitor and control all home security devices and appliances via a single smart phone app anytime, anywhere, Connected Home offers customers’ mobility with complete peace of mind. Not only can users monitor their security devices and receive alerts on the app of any breach, but also switch on/off any electrical device and set ambient lighting.

The Connected Home devices will be available at selected Dialog Customer Care centres in multiple ready-to-purchase kits, which can be self-installed by the customer. The ease of set-up and monitoring offered by the Connected Home solution offers customers unparallel­ed versatilit­y and convenienc­e. product bundles for Connected Home solutions start at just Rs.35,000 with the ability to customize to suit specific requiremen­ts.”
