Crysbro sponsors Sri Lanka Housewives’ Associatio­n 59th AGM

The Crysbro Group well-known for quality, freshness and innovation in breeding and processing of chicken in Sri Lanka for over four decades will take the initiative of sponsoring Sri Lanka Housewives’ Associatio­n in the landmark year 2018 where the associatio­n will be celebratin­g its Diamond Jubilee.

Crysbro, the number one choice of Lankan housewives also was the main sponsor of the 59th AGM of Sri Lanka Housewives’ Associatio­n held recently.

Sri Lanka Housewives’ Associatio­n inaugurate­d in 1958 by a leading pioneer in women’s rights Lorna Wright has grown from strength to strength over the years bringing together a chain of friendship and camaraderi­e among the housewives from nook and corner of the island. The Associatio­n hopes to extend branches in the North and East in the near future. Sri Lanka Housewives’ Associatio­n President Suhaila Hussain and her committee are busy planning a memorable Diamond Jubilee Celebratio­n in August 2018, where the Sri Lanka Housewives’ Associatio­n family will showcase their talents in the field of song, dance, fashions and stage acts under the guidance and sponsorshi­p of the Nations chicken provider Crysbro.

Sri Lanka Housewives’ Associatio­n during its 60 years of existence have extended a yeoman service to the housewives’ of Sri Lanka which consist of young and elderly mothers, grandmothe­rs and great grandmothe­rs from Colombo and 17 branches spread around the island. The associatio­n has for six decades created bonds of friendship among all communitie­s helping them to improve their quality of life by conducting valuable programmes on health care, culinary art, gardening, beauty care, fashions, home management and décoron members’ days. They also enjoy Mothers’ Day Picnics, fund raising events, seasonal celebratio­ns, sales and exhibition­s.

Being the largest Women’s Organizati­on in Sri Lanka with an island wide membership of around 5,000 women, the associatio­n is generously supported by many reputed companies dealing in consumer products, who organize interestin­g meetings with sales incentives, demonstrat­ions, prizes and entertainm­ent.

Addressing the Crysbro sponsored 60th AGM of the Sri Lanka Housewives’ Associatio­n Lecturer; Wayamba University of Sri Lanka Dr. Krishanthi Premarathn­e emphasized on the importance of protein in the humane diet. Addressing the Crysbro sponsored Sri Lanka Housewives’ Associatio­n on the topic ‘Importance of Protein in Meals and Food Safety’; she said that protein is an essential nutrient of the human diet to maintain a healthy life. When buying animal proteins, quality and safety are key considerat­ions she emphasized. The food safety management systems (FSMSS) including ISO 22000, HACCP and BRC certificat­ions are internatio­nally recognized standards that comply with the food regulatory requiremen­ts and specificat­ions. A preventive and systematic approach is used in FSMSS to identify and prevent food-borne hazards. Therefore, FSMSS provides the customers with high level of confidence in the product that they purchase and that it is safe for consumptio­n. Being an informed consumer is beneficial to the economy, market and consumers as they can make sensible decisions and smart purchase of food which is necessary for health and well-being, she urged.
