Uber launches trips to Galle

Uber, the world’s largest on-demand ride-sharing company, today announced the launch of its extended service to Galle in Sri Lanka.

With this, one-way ride to Galle, Hikkaduwa, Unawatuna or Bentota is simply a tap away. It aims to offer the perfect solution for travellers who are looking to explore new cities, friends who are looking for a quick getaway or even a perfect solo travel to experience the beauty of these historical cities.

Uber General Manager Arjun Srinivasan said: “We understand that our riders are always looking for options to travel at ease. With Galle, we are thrilled to enhance this experience by addressing the commuting needs of our diverse set of riders, including tourists and those who visit families over weekends. We aim to expand our outstation trips to more cities across the country.”

How to book an Galle: Open the Uber app ; choose the Galle option; riders can use the Galle option from the Colombo Internatio­nal Airport or anywhere in the city of Colombo.

Enter your choice of destinatio­n - Galle, Hikkaduwa, Unawatuna or Bentota, and hit confirm. Riders will see the driver’s details straight away – name, photo and the details of the car. At the end of the trip, the total fare will be calculated. Riders pay just like a normal Uber trip by cash or card and receive an e-receipt.
