BBDO Lanka celebrates three big awards in 2017

-

BBDO Lanka celebrated its three big wins, and the season, under the theme ‘Just Clap’ at the Gregory’s Room, Taj Samudra on December 15th.

“Just Clap is a theme we created so that the entire team, who are responsible for these great wins get the due applause for their great work as well as internalise and carry forward the feeling of this very well deserved applause,” explained BBDO Lanka MD Santosh Menon.

BBDO Lanka has taken home a number of prestigious awards in 2017 for work done in 2016 and 2017 for a wide range of clients and brands. In September it was awarded a Bronze at the Tangrams Effectiveness Awards, Asia Pacific’s premier awards honouring outstanding marketing strategies that deliver real business results, held at Spikes Asia in Singapore. The agency was recognised for their work for Anchor in the marketing campaign for National Brand Development category. In October BBDO Lanka took home a Gold and a Finalist award for its two entries at the Effie Awards Sri Lanka. It was awarded a Gold in the Insurance category for its ‘Guiding Light for Life’ campaign for Janashakthi Insurance and a Finalist award for its ‘Believers in Glass’ project for Piramal Glass in the David vs. Goliath category.

Most recently, BBDO Lanka was recognised as one of the most creative agencies in the region once again when it was awarded the ‘Rest of South Asia Creative Agency of the Year - Gold’ award by Campaign Asia-pacific at its Agency of the Year 2017 awards. Campaign Asiapacific Agency of the Year awards is the region’s most esteemed Agency of the Year awards, known for identifying excellence in local markets.

“The year has been a year full of challenges and rewards for us. We’ve done some great work that helped our clients and their brands grow and we have been duly rewarded for all the hard work with both local and international recognition, including awards. The team is thrilled and we have been celebrating these awards. We look forward to doing more great work in 2018 that will make both our network and country proud of us,” said BBDO Lanka Senior Account Director Chanithi Gunasekera.

The ‘Just Clap’ themed festivities included a magic show by Gamage and a stand-up comedy performance by Yasir whilst Althaf had the whole team moving to the festive beats together.

“I had always wanted to work for BBDO because of its reputation for continuous award winning work, across the world. The accolades and the recognition are all on brand work and that is what makes BBDO special. So when I got the opportunity to be a part of the network here in Sri Lanka, I was super excited,” said BBDO Lanka Client Servicing Vice President Roneeta Ghosh.

She continued: “The year has been amazing for all of us as a team, being recognised for our creative and effective work for our clients across such a wide spectrum of platforms here in Sri Lanka and overseas. It was really great for us all to take a moment and just clap for ourselves and each other and carry this amazing feeling of appreciation forward to motivate ourselves to just keep doing better. We’re bidding adieu to 2017 in high spirits and beginning 2018 with a bang, motivated to keep on creating great work, and keep clapping.”
