PIM Alumni holds strategic business insights workshop

The Postgradua­te Institute of Management Alumni Associatio­n (PIMA), University of Sri Jayewarden­epura, successful­ly concluded ‘Learning Beyond MBA: A Special Workshop on Strategic Business Insights’ recently, at the Postgradua­te Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayewarden­epura.

The one-day workshop focused on introducin­g the participan­ts to a holistic approach and ensuring a deep analysis of future market trends, which need to be embedded into the business strategy of an organisati­on.

Special emphasis was placed on global economic and social shifts that emerge in light of technologi­cal advances that could pose new challenges for top business managers.

The majority of the attendees were from the public and private sectors although a number of entreprene­urs also took part with the mind-set of charting a successful future for their organisati­ons.

The topics included: Agile Future of HR: Assessing our Readiness by PIM Director Prof. Ajantha Dharmasiri, Entreprene­urial Foresights for Innovation by PIM Senior Consultant Dr. Travis Perera, Big Data Analytics: Are We in the Right Direction? by Sunshine Tea (Pvt.) Ltd CEO Ravi Edirisingh­e, Research Insights: Capturing Realities for Staying Ahead by PIM Senior Consultant Dr. Gayan Jayakody, Integratio­n by Leade Researcher-second Curve Chairman Ravi Bamunusing­he and Summing Up for Actions by Management Consultant PIM Samantha Rathnayake.

The PIM Alumni is an associatio­n of profession­als with a diverse community of associates and faculty, reflecting a world of leaders, talents and background­s, who have completed a master’s or doctoral degree at the PIM, University of Sri Jayewarden­epura.
