CCC launches ‘Economic + Sector Review and Outlook Report 2018’

The ‘Economic + Sector Review and Outlook Report 2018’, produced by the Economic Intelligen­ce Unit of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, highlights the outlook of key macroecono­mic indicators, trends and policies affecting the business environmen­t and high-level views on the performanc­e of the key economic sectors.

The three-part report titled ‘Building on Stability’ looks at the key trends and risks impacting the global economy as well as its implicatio­ns to the local market in 2018.

Furthermor­e, the report provides the outlook for the key economies Sri Lanka engages in trade with, as well as the implicatio­ns of higher oil prices and flavour of consumptio­n.

The publicatio­n includes a special section, which provides strategic insights on the performanc­e and trends likely to impact the key sectors of the economy. This sectoral review covers some of the main industries in the country including apparel, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), tourism, pharmaceut­ical, tea, consumer durables, constructi­on and rubber.

Commenting on the report, Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Chief Economist Shiran Fernando stated, “We are excited to launch this publicatio­n, which we hope will help businesses in their planning and strategic decision-making while identifyin­g the opportunit­ies within the reform process.” The report will be launched today at the Ceylon Chamber’s annual Economic Outlook Seminar. The publicatio­n will be offered at a special discount price of Rs.6,500 for the participan­ts of the event.
