Avian Technologies hosts Kaspersky Awards Night 2018
Avian Technologies (Pvt.) Ltd held the Kaspersky Awards Night 2018 at the Water’s Edge recently. Sixteen partners and corporates received accolades for their performance in the year 2017. Present as Chief Guest was Kaspersky Lab South Asia General Manager Shrenik Bhayani who was accompanied by Kaspersky Lab South Asia Online Sales Manager Purshottam Bhatia along with Avian Technologies Directors Buddhika Liyanage and Ranil Francisco.
Speaking to the gathering Shrenik Bhayani said: “Cyber security products have started to be commoditised as a result of evolving technology. Simultaneously we face new challenges and threats daily. This has also increased the number of attacks detected. Between 1986 and 2006 we detected one million malwares in total. However in 2016 alone we detected 2.2 million malwares,” he stated.
The gravity of cyber-attacks has magnified as they have moved from financial fraud to state level cybercrimes, which are able to disrupt national economy within seconds. “Furthermore, there is a magnifying number of devices that are vulnerable to cyber-attacks. From 4.6 billion devices in 2015, we are looking at an estimated 25 billion devices by 2020. Therefore the opportunity for cyber-crime is expanding, and it is our responsibility as a leader in the industry to continuously detect, respond and protect our customers. Kaspersky is well equipped for this challenge,” he added.
The Partner Awards were presented to Techtron Integrated Solutions (Pvt.) Ltd for Best Technical Support and KBSL Information Technologies (Pvt.) Ltd for Best Payment Partner. The Special Recognition Award was won by Sri Lanka Telecom Services Ltd whilst Zillione Technologies (Pvt.) Ltd was named the Market Penetration Champion. Petra Samuel of Zillione Technologies (Pvt.) Ltd and Deshan Samaraweera of Sri Lanka Telecom Services Ltd walked away with the Gold and Silver awards for Best Corporate Sales Champions respectively.
The Top 10 Corporate Awards were presented to Zillione Technologies (Pvt.) Ltd, Sri Lanka Telecom Services Ltd, Finco Technologies (Pvt.) Ltd, Metropolitan Computers (Pvt.)
