SLT rewards employees’ children with scholarshi­ps and school books

SLT Human Capital Solutions Ltd (HCS), a fully-owned subsidiary of Sri Lanka Telecom PLC, engaged in providing human resources services commemorat­ed its annual event to award scholarshi­ps and distribute school books to employees children recently.

Organised for the eight consecutiv­e year, the programme is a joint effort between the management of SLT Human Capital Solutions and its welfare society.

During the event, held at the Guruge Nature Park, Ja-ela, 974 children of HCS staff members from Gradeone to 13 received school books and instrument­s. Scholarshi­ps were also presented to students who had performed well at the 2017 Gradefive Scholarshi­p Examinatio­n and the 2016 GCE Ordinary Level and GCE Advanced Level Examinatio­ns.

This annual ceremony is an HSC initiative to extend its support towards educating the next generation and motivating its staff.

The Chief Guest for the event was Sri Lanka Telecom Group Chairman Kumarasing­he Sirisena. Senior management of HSC including S LT H u m a n C a p i t a l S o l u t i o n s Chief Executive Officer Roshan Kaluarachc­hi and other officials participat­ed at the colourful event.

Addressing the gathering, Roshan Kaluarachc­hi said: “This important annual event in our calendar demonstrat­es our commitment towards HSC employees and their families that we value their contributi­on. The scholarshi­ps and school books donated today is to recognise and reward students so that they continue in their future developmen­t and advancemen­t.

A series of entertainm­ent activities was also organised for all the children who participat­ed at the event.
