Battle between technologi­cal minds of youth

‘IT Mastermind’, organised by the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) and fully sponsored by the ESOFT Metro Campus as the strategic, partner has reached the final stage in its journey, dedicated in finding the IT minds among the youth of Sri Lanka.

Out of 175 national and internatio­nal schools across the country competing for the title, St. Aloysius College, Galle, Thurstan College, Colombo and Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala managed to emerge victorious after having to face several strenuous rounds, in to the final arena of combat.

The grand finale will telecast on ITN, Sunday, March 4th 2018, at 6:00p.m., where three great schools and nine great minds will be competing to become the ‘IT Mastermind 2017’

The Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) is the apex profession­al body representi­ng the informatio­n and communicat­ions profession­al field in Sri Lanka. CSSL has been a key player in the cause of uplifting the ICT field of Sri Lanka by executing several programmes. ‘IT Mastermind’ is one core programme in the CSSL agenda which contribute in developing the interest and knowledge toward ICT among the student community of the nation.

ESOFT Metro Campus as the main sponsor of the IT Mastermind Programme is the largest ICT education institutio­n and the mother company with an extension of 40 branches spreading nationwide and with its influence on shaping lives and creating futures spreading on an internatio­nal scale. ESOFT with a vision of treating the advancemen­t of the ICT knowledge of the student community as a national responsibi­lity has extended its support and assistance in granting full sponsorshi­p to the success of the IT Mastermind programme for the sixth consecutiv­e time.

All schools competing with a team consisting of three students each underwent a rigorous process having to succeed through several competitiv­e rounds in order to secure its positionin­g in the finals. Entering into the grand finale of IT Mastermind 2018, St. Aloysius College, Galle, Thurstan College, Colombo and Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala will be facing each other in the arena where their mastery in the scope of ICT will be put to the test.

The winners of IT Mastermind 2017 will be awarded with laptops worth Rs.300,000, scholarshi­ps worth Rs.100,000 each, with a cash prize of Rs.500,000. The school that secures its position as the runners up, will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs.200,000, scholarshi­ps worth Rs.100,000 for each student and second runners up will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs.100,000 with scholarshi­ps worth Rs.100,000 for each student as take home prizes.
