Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala wins first place at ‘IT Mastermind 2017’

Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala, won the first place of the ‘IT Mastermind 2017’ Inter-school Quiz Competitio­n organised by the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) and fully sponsored by Esoft Metro Campus (Pvt.) Ltd.

Accordingl­y, the Rs.500,000 being the prize for the winner, and the set of computer peripheral­s worth Rs.300,000 prize for the winner’s school were presented to the Principal of Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala by the Group Managing Director of Esoft Group of Companies Dr. Dayan Rajapakse and the Computer Society of Sri Lanka Chairman Yasas V. Abeywickra­ma. Second place was awarded to Thurstan College Colombo, and in the third place was St. Aloysius’ College Galle.

Thousands of schools from all districts in Sri Lanka entered this quiz competitio­n and after a grueling contest that lasted for three months and several strenuous rounds, where Maliyadeva College Kurunegala bagged the first place. All the preliminar­y rounds and the final round of the quiz competitio­n were telecast over the Independen­t Television Network (ITN).

The Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) is the apex body representi­ng ICT Profession­als in Sri Lanka, and is working with national responsibi­lity for the upliftment of the ICT field of the country.

The entire financial sponsorshi­p for the ‘IT Mastermind Quiz Competitio­n 2017’ is from Esoft Metro Campus (Pvt.) Ltd. Esoft is the largest private sector higher education in Sri Lanka with the most number of students and branches islandwide, where arrange of programmes can be followed under one roof at very competitiv­e prices. Esoft is sponsoring the ‘IT Mastermind Quiz Competitio­n’ as uplifting the ICT knowledge of students and the general public has become an important national need.
