New-look Tuskers eye Borneo revival
The Sri Lanka Sevens Rugby Team will look to make amends for their last year’s disastrous performance when they battle it out in the Borneo Sevens which will commence in Sandakan, Malaysia today.
With some of the key players suffering injuries, the National Selectors have opted for a very young side which features two debutants in the shape of Sithum Peiris and Adeesha Weeratunga.
Peiris has had a decent season for Havelock Sports Club despite being unavailable for certain Inter-club games due to injuries.
But Weeratunga was in red hot form for Navy Sports Club and played a massive part in helping his team to finish second in both League and Knock-out Tournament.
Head Coach Peter Woods will certainly be thrilled with the exposure these youngsters are expected to gain from this tournament. Meanwhile, wing three quarter Kevin Dixon will also look for a gallant comeback having missed the Inter-club League rugby action for last three months due to an injury.

The selectors have certainly not risked them for this tournament with the Commonwealth Gamers scheduled for next month.
