Micro Cars secures agency for MG in Sri Lanka; introduces ZS Compact SUV
Morris Garages (MG), a renowned British automobile brand, primarily introduced to Sri Lanka by sole agent United Motors Lanka PLC, has been acquired by Micro Cars Ltd as the new exclusive importer for MG cars in Sri Lanka.
The official distributor for this automobile brand is Euro Sports Auto Lanka (Pte) Ltd, known for being the ‘Lamborghini Showroom’ in Sri Lanka, it specialises in luxury European vehicles and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Micro Cars Ltd.
The first model to debut in Sri Lanka under the Micro Cars authority is the stylish new MG ZS Compact SUV with modern specs ideal to suit the needs of local consumers. The first batch of MG SUVS was delivered to the respective customers.
The ‘ZS’, which is imported directly to Sri Lanka, is manufactured in China to satisfy the UK, European and Australian markets and this is the ‘Exclusive’ version, which offers the highest specs in its range.
The SUV is powered by a turbocharged one-litre gasoline engine, driven by a six-speed automatic transmission, which is capable of transmitting 111-horsepower and 160-newton metres of torque to the front wheels, which is highly suitable for local ‘stop and go’ traffic conditions providing comfort and ease of driving.
The ZS is also loaded with a plethora of modern features such as a panoramic sunroof, 17-inch alloy wheels, an eightinch touch display which supports Apple Car Play, auto lights and rain sensing wipers, LED daytime running lights along with ‘follow me home lights’, keyless entry, cruise control, a reverse camera with reverse parking sensors, a multifunctional steering wheel equipped with a fully leather interior, six airbags, ABS and ESP.
The new ZS comes with a threeyears/100,000 kilometres warranty and will be sold at a special introductory price that will no doubt be an ideal, real value for money for consumers seeking a loaded compact SUV at an affordable price.
