Husband found hanging from a tree
The Tangalle Police recovered the bodies of a woman who had been hacked to death and of her husband hanging from a tree in Kudawella. They were parents of a child, police said.
They said the body of the woman, identified as D. Chiranga Imalsha (22), was found from a house at Kudawella and that of her husband, Y.G. Darshana (26), hanging from a tree a little distant from the house.
Police said several stab injuries were observed in the face and an incise wound in the neck of the woman. Investigations revealed that she had been alone in the house at the time of the murder.

said the circumstances that led to the incident were yet to be established.
Tangalle Acting Magistrate Ranjith Gunasekara who visited the scene and held the preliminary magisterial inquiry ordered the police to refer the bodies for postmortem examination.
