Central Industries donates total water supply system to Diyapota Maha Vidyalaya
Central industries PLC, manufacturer of water-pipe and accessories with the ‘National PVC’ brand name and electrical switches with the ‘Krypton’ brand name, recently engaged in a CSR initiative to donate a ‘Total Water Supply System’ to Diyapota Maha Vidyalaya at Embilipitiya.
The inaugural event was graced by Central Industries PLC Marketing Manager Sapumal Herath and Diyapota Maha Vidyalaya Principal S.S. Rathayake.
The school houses around 150 students from primary to the ordinary level grade. Central Industries PLC engaged in this CSR project by incurring all costs involved to cater to the dire need of a water supply system by the school, facing an unfathomable water crisis.
Central Industries PLC Marketing Manager Sapumal Herath, speaking at the ceremony to commission the water solution system said that his company is grateful for being able to assist the school by way of supplying water, a basic need for students.
“Central Industries is a socially responsible company that constantly involve in CSR projects aimed at enhancing the status of the society and lives of all Sri Lankans. Today is the Global Water Day that has the theme; ‘The Answer is with the Nature’. Hence these school children and the entire society should understand the value of preservation of water for the future generations to consume. As a company, Central Industries has understood this fact and constantly takes measures to preserve water by way of providing best quality National PVC water pipes and accessories for the people in the country,” he said.
Diyapota Maha Vidyalaya Principal S.S. Rathayake speaking at the occasion said: “Embilipitiya is an area with a dire scarcity of water. We have requested support from many companies to solve this problem but no one was ready to heed to our requests. But Central Industries company came forward to help us and our students and their parents pay gratitude to the company for its generosity.”
The occasion was also graced by Dealer Network Sales Manager Duminda Sisira Kumara, Group Brand Manager Lalith Dias, Zonal Sales Manager Lahiru Amaratunga, Business Development Officer Madushanka Chandrasena and parents of students of Diyapota Maha Vidyalaya.
