India-based Vosocronus launches revolutionary taxi fare metre to local market
Vosocronus Ceylon (Pvt.) Ltd, an India-based company, yesterday launched its latest state-of-the-art taxi fare metre at a press conference held at Cey Nor Restaurant, Colombo 10.
Vosocronus’ new taxi fare metre is approved by the SLS Institute, National Council for Road Safety, Transport and Civil Aviation Ministry and Government of Sri Lanka.
The product launched complements the recent government regulation requiring all three-wheelers and taxis to install a digital metre and issue a receipt to the customers upon the end of a trip.
The new taxi fare metre consists of five multifunctional keys, which show their operations on the LCD screen, a first in the local taxi fare metre industry. Another first to the local industry and what makes this product unique is the built-in thermal printer, which is used to print the receipt for the customer at the end of a fare. This addition provides, security, certainty and reliability as the receipt carries out the fare charge, fare time, fare distance, fare number and taxi number.
Speaking at the launch, Vosocronus Ceylon (Pvt.) Ltd Founding/managing Director Srinivasan said, “We have our own factory in India, based out Delhi. What we are doing is importing a product from India and selling in Sri Lanka according to Sri Lankan standards. We are the only taxi metre company in Sri Lanka that has got the SLS certification and no taxi metres in Sri Lanka have a printer.”
Vosocronus claims that the company has a team of specialised engineers who can stimulate the things to bring the best products in the market and that strength lies in adopting the latest technology with their team of best-in-class distributors and dealers.
In order to ease the burden off the consumer, Vosocronus has tied up with LOLC and LB Finance to provide special payment/ leasing schemes on the new taxi fare metre.
Vosocronus’ new taxi fare metre is introduced at Rs.14,999, equipped with a one-year warranty and is available at Vosocronus’ head office located at No.197, Symonds Road, Maradana, Colombo 10. The product will be made available in Colombo 09, Colombo 11 and Colombo 12 at selected distributors within the next week.
