In this 2018/2019 fiscal year, keeping to its true tradition, People’s Merchant Finance PLC turned a new leaf by commencing CSR activities by organising a variety of special events to commemorate year round religious events.
The new CEO Nishantha Gunasekara has brought in a fresh breath of air to People’s Merchant Finance PLC under the stewardship of Chairman Hemasiri Fernando.
“Our objective is to assist the people who need loving compassion,” Manager Business Promotion Mahendra Manawadu elaborated on the programmes the company has organised in Kandy and Kurunegala, namely in ‘Friends in need Society’ and ‘Ibbagamuwa Elders’ Home’, elderly homes situated in the heart of towns.
The staff of the head office of People’s Merchant Finance PLC and the Kandy and Kurunegala branches spent a fun-filled time with the elders bringing joyful tears to their eyes. A sing song event brought back the long lost signing talents of the elders, which ended with a delicious meal shared with loving compassion.
The People’s Merchant Finance PLC’S next CSR activities are already organised in Anuradhapura and Mihintale. The company targets to provide people in remote areas with day-today essentials.
The concept ‘Meth Sisila Pathuramu Sith Thula’ spreads its compassion to commemorate Hajji, Ramadan and Christmas festivals too, organising various events in villages helping all walks of lives.
People’s Merchant Finance PLC has collaborated with its branch network to carry out CSR events. The staff contributes to this worthy cause while the company funds the events.
