David Pieris Group awards certificat­es to another batch of computer trainees

Another batch of students who have successful­ly completed the Introducti­on to Computer Skills course sponsored by the David Pieris Group of Companies at Computer Training Centre in Madapatha, Piliyandal­a, received certificat­es recently at a ceremony held at David Pieris Motor Company (Pvt.) Ltd auditorium in Bandaragam­a.

Accordingl­y, a total of 160 students who have successful­ly completed the course received their certificat­es at the awarding ceremony.

David Pieris Group Social Welfare Committee Chairman and DPMC Parts and Accessorie­s Director Jayantha Ratnayake was the chief guest of the event. DP Global Ventures (Pvt.) Ltd CEO Suhashini Chandramoh­an, DP Group officials and parents of students also participat­ed in the ceremony.

In addition to educationa­l programmes, David Pieris Group’s Social Welfare Committee is providing fully equipped houses for low income families, medical equipment to hospitals, financial assistance for those who suffer from critical illnesses and disable people, public transport facilities in rural areas as well as several programmes for uplift the women and training them in entreprene­urship annually under its CSR projects annually.

SDB bank has organised an islandwide Lakdaru Scholarshi­p Seminar Series for Grade-five students. This will be carried out as a CSR project. The Tamil medium seminar was held on June 30, 2018, at Sri Kanthaswam­y Temple Hall, Vavuniya.

During the seminars, there was an opportunit­y to open Lakdaru accounts. Special features of the Lakdaru account include attractive gift schemes, a free hospitalis­ation insurance cover up to Rs.50,000, rewards for educationa­l achievemen­ts and an additional interest than normal savings.

Entrance for these seminars is free of charge and SDB Bank invites the children for these seminars who sit for the Gradefive scholarshi­p examinatio­n.
