SEC-CSE Anuradhapura Investor Forum receives overwhelming response
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) together with the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) concluded the 12th Investor Forum titled ‘Kotas Welenda Pola: Nagarayen Nagarayate’ recently, at Golden Mango Resort in Anuradhapura.
The regional forums are conducted with the aim of educating the public on wealth creation through the capital market.
This successful regional forum saw active participation from over 300 attendees including retailers, university lecturers, businessmen and professionals i.e. doctors, lawyers, etc.
The forum also featured insightful presentations including by some of the industry’s reputed personnel who provided in-depth knowledge on investing in the capital market.
SMB Securities (Pvt.) Ltd Business Development Deputy Chief Executive Officer Prabash Wanigatunga spoke on the ‘Introduction to the stock market’, followed by a presentation on ‘Analysis of opportunities available in the stock market’ by Assetline Securities Ltd/david Peiris Motor Company Ltd Deputy General Manager and Head of Group Research Sidath Kalyanarathna.
The day concluded with a panel discussion moderated by CSE Anuradhapura Branch Manager Tharaka Amarasena and featured SEC External Relations and Surveillance Director Tushara Jayaratne, CSE Market Development Head Niroshan Wijesundere as well as the two presenters. The panel discussion also created space for dialogue between the panellists and audience.
Participants also got the opportunity to interact with the stockbrokers and unit trust management companies, who provided the potential investors with valuable investment advice.
