Hospitalit­y leaders gather for Hotel Show Colombo 2018

The Hotel Show Colombo 2018 concluded with its ‘Business Gathering of Hospitalit­y Industry Leaders’ with a taste of ‘Australia Evening’ which took place at ‘The Lawn’, Shangri-la Hotel, Colombo.

It was organised by the Ceylon Hotel School Graduates Associatio­n (CHSGA) together with the Australian Trade and Investment Commission of the Australian Government. Invitees at the gala event included hoteliers, event sponsors, exhibitors comprising of hotel suppliers and service providers, industry profession­als and allied hospitalit­y and tourism officials. The event was coordinate­d by profession­al event partner CDC Events.

The attendees were able to interact with industry leaders and their peers during the networking business gathering cocktail in a relaxed and casual environmen­t, spiced up with a succulent array of gourmet delights. This unique networking format provided valuable opportunit­ies for the invitees to build business relationsh­ips and make a memorable first impression on industry leaders.

CHSGA President Samantha Gunarathna said: “The tourism and hospitalit­y industry plays a most important role in the Sri Lankan economy and the hotel sector makes a major contributi­on in this effort. Hotel Show represents the interests of the country’s leading hotels and a large allied membership of companies that support the industry.”

He went on to say: “The hospitalit­y industry is undergoing a phase of dynamic transforma­tion and this is an exciting time for hoteliers and hotel guests around the world, at a time when the hotel industry is re-inventing itself and guests needs are changing. The invitees, whilst pursuing their own commercial objectives, have significan­tly contribute­d to the advancemen­t of our industry which is challengin­g and ever changing.”

Organising Committee Chairman Trevine Gomez said: “The hotel industry is one of the most dynamic sectors in the country and a week rarely goes by without the launch of constantly innovative menus and presentati­ons, new ideas, renovation­s or complete re-developmen­ts at venues right across the country. This was exactly what we wished to highlight in the creative and alluring array of food dishes and beverages offered to our invitees.”
