“Vidulka -2018” to promote renewable energy technologies
“Vidulka -2018”, a three-day energy exhibition conducted annually by the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority (SLSEA) with the goal of enhancing energy efficiency in all sectors, in a bid to promote renewable energy technologies, will begin today (17) and end on Sunday (19) at ‘Nugasevana’at the BMICH from 10am – 6pm, Power and Renewable Energy Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said.
The presentation of awards will take place next Tuesday (21) at the Lotus Hall at the BMICH at 4.00 pm. The event is to be graced by President Maithripala Sirisena, he added.
Minister Siyambalapitiya told reporters at his Ministry office that the ‘Vidulka’ exhibition was an ideal platform for both innovators and inventors alike to showcase their unique ideas in improving energy efficiency and energy management. This is also a place where they could present their innovative ideas in various areas of renewable energy such as water, wind, solar power and bio-mass.
Around 150 exhibitors both local and foreign, covering energy sector including industrialists, manufacturers, suppliers and innovators are expected to take part in the exhibition. Moreover, technocrats could also showcase their talents, technologies and equipment at the event.the exhibition will also offer a chance for the general public to come to know the latest technologies in the energy sector. Admission to the exhibition is free.
