Renovated Field Military Hospital vested with Wanni troops
Giving top most priority for health requirements of soldiers serving the Wanni region, the Security Forces Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) gave a new lease of life to the dilapidated and unattended SFHQ-W Field Hospital and made it functional upon directions given by Wanni Security Forces Commander Major General Kumudu Perera.
The fully-renovated Field Military Hospital in Wanni was vested with Army personnel by the SF-W Commander last Friday, in the presence of Major M.H.U. Perera, Major J.A.D.C.H. Jayasinghe, Captain K. Jayasekara, Captain W.A.D.A.K. Rathnasekara and Dental Officer Major D.M.A.S. Yapa.
After renovation, over 100 inward patients could be comfortably accommodated and the medical staff has been provided with new equipment and accessories.
Troops representing 26 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 7, 16, 20, 26 and 17 (V) Battalions of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 11 Gemunu Watch, 24, 5(V) Battalions of Gajaba Regiment, together with 17 (V) Battalion of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment contributed to the project.
Brigadier General Staff SFHQ-W, Brigadier Kumar Jayapathirana, BAQ, Brigadier Ranjan Premalal along with several senior officers, staff members of the Field Military Hospital and a large gathering of Army personnel attended the reopening ceremony.
