67th anniversary of SLFP tomorrow

The 67th anniversary of the SLFP will be held tomorrow (2) after observing religious rites,

Piyadasa said.

The main religious event will be held at the Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya with the participation of President Maithripala Sirisena while Hindu Religious rituals will be held at the Kathireshan Kovil, Bambalapitiya with the participation of Deputy Minister of Hindu Religious Affairs, he said.

He further said that Muslim religious rituals will be held at Maligawatta Mosque with the participation of Provincial Council and Local Government Minister Faizer Musthapa and another at the Colombo Dawatagaha Mosque with the participation of State Minister of Integration and Reconciliation A.H.M. Fowzie.

The Christian religious programme will be held on Sunday (2) at the main church at Chilaw with the participation of former Deputy Minister Neomal Perera.

The General Secretary also said that a large number of SLFP Ministers and Leaders and a large number of party supporters are expected to participate at these religious programmes.

The annual convention has also been planned to be held before end of the month when new office bearers will be elected, he said.
