Ceylon Chamber calls for applications for BCCS 2018
The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) is inviting applications from Sri Lanka’s corporate firms to compete in the ‘Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability Award 2018’ (BCCS 2018), an annual event conducted for the 15th consecutive year.
The closing date for applications is October 12, 2018, and the panel of evaluators of the BCCS Awards will then undertake the first round of evaluations.
The evaluation will assess how successfully the companies adopted best practices to create goods and services, using processes and systems that ensure efficient use of resources, minimise pollution of the environment, are safe and healthy for workers, consumers and communities and enhance the well-being of all communities, in line with achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS).
In addition to the main award, the ‘Best Sustainability Projects Awards 2018’, will recognise exemplary sustainability efforts carried out by companies focusing to serve the people and the planet, covering a wide arena of activities such as education, training, community services, housing for low income people, infrastructure, environmental preservation and more.
