Brie Larson looks fierce in superhero suit

-

She’s coming to save the world where other superheroes have failed. Brie Larson makes her debut as Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, on the front cover of Entertainment Weekly, released on Thursday. The 28-year-old looks fierce in a skin-tight blue and red body suit with her blonde curls tumbling over her shoulders. The air-force-pilot-turned-inter-galactichero is the latest entrant in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or the MCU as fans dub it.

And Brie’s character is also the first female superhero in the MCU to have a standalone film the 21st entry in the Marvel franchise. Talking about her character to EW, the actress revealed: ‘She can’t help but be herself. ‘She can be aggressive, and she can have a temper, and she can be a little invasive and in your face. She’s also quick to jump to things, which makes her amazing in battle because she’s the first one out there and doesn’t always wait for orders,’ something Brie described ‘a character flaw.’ The movie is set in the mid-1990s long before Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark built his Iron Man suit. However it will throwback to characters seen in recent Avengers movies including Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Djimon Hounsou as Korath and Lee Pace as Ronan The Accuser.

The movie bows on March 8, two months before the Untitled Avengers Movie debuts on May 3. That means Captain Marvel, who made her comic debut in 1968, will likely come to the aid of mankind helping the supes put an end to Josh Brolin’s evil destroyer Thanos.

The question is, of course, where was Captain Marvel when Thanos was wreaking havoc in Avengers: Infinity War? No doubt all will be revealed next year.
