MESSAGE FROM THE HON. PRIME MINISTER

- Ranil Wickremesinghe Prime Minister

We are delivering on our plans to transform our education system in Sri Lanka and empower our youth. We are investing in technical and vocational training as a part of our development strategy and investments in universities and financial support to students are among major improvements. By following this plan, we are delivering better opportunities and uplifting our youth.

EDEX has become the largest single nationwide platform for Sri Lankan Youth to pursue their higher education aspirations. It offers an opportunity for our youth to explore secondary, graduate and post graduate qualifications with skills development.

EDEX Mid-year Expo 2018 which marks the 33rd event of the series reflects the steps we are taking to empower our youth and ensure that they have the skills they need in a globally competitive and fast changing market place.

The event will provide the students who look for tertiary education with the information they need to make the right choices. It is also an opportunity for educational service providers to promote their courses, programmes and services.

I wish the organisers of the event the very best and I hope that the EDEX Expo will reach greater heights in helping our government to empower and support our Sri Lankan youth.
