MESSAGE FROM CHAIRMAN EDEX

- Mahinda Galagedera

It is my privilege as Chairmanedex to subscribe a message to the EDEX Mid-year Expo 2018 supplement.

Today we stand on the threshold of a new era where digitalisation is ruling the world. This is then a platform for the youth to envision a new world of possibilities. And, it is apt that we champion the youth, their skills, talents and penchant to be IT savvy, whilst utilizing new processes and innovations that surround them.

Digitalisation has become the norm in society, and we are bombarded by the latest technology. We need to keep abreast with the changes, and Sri Lankan youth have to be geared to embrace change, and usher in rapid progress.

We also need to create equity among the rural and urban youth, so that everyone gets a fair chance to be an integral part of the technological advancement and lifestyles.

I thank all those who will make this year’s Expo information rich, and for bringing together new ideas and possibilities, a step closer to the youth.

I encourage all parents to give their children the freedom to choose what lies beyond.

May this Expo be a new beginning to a golden tomorrow.

I wish all stake-holders a very successful Mid-year Expo and Job Fair!
